<p>The hand torch with a rechargeable accumulator (6) has two plug-in contacts (2) for mains connection, connected by resistances (4) to a rectifier bridge (5) for the accumulator. This is connected by a switch (7) to the bulb (8), with a heat sensitive element (9) and switch contacts (28,29) across it. The element is enclosed by a coiled resistance (10) connected by a heating wire (30) and limiter resistance (31) to the mains connections. As soon as thr torch is disconnected from the mains supply, the heat sensitive element cools and the contacts (28,29) close. The lamp is then operated, indicating that the supply is interrupted. In an alternative design, the torch is clipped across a conductor rail and then indicates if there is a mains supply failure. The torch can easily be removed and fitted with a strap engaging the securing clips, for use as a carrying handle.</p> |
