<p>Threads have core threads which have been treated with a compsn. of an unmodified and/or internally plasticised epoxy resin and a hardener acting catalytically on heating, giving a partic. initial stiffness to the core threads. This stiffness is increased controllably, depending on time and temp., and a casing of thermoplastic synthetic material, esp. polyamide is bonded firmly over the epoxy resin distributed between the filaments. A sieve type of fabric consisting of these threads is claimed. The casing cannot become detached from the core fibres. The threads and fabric have controllable stiffness.</p> |
