The filter element housing is built up from two parts. The housing is circular, with upstand peripheral walls consisting of protrusions (3). The protrusions (3a) on one part of the housing mesh with corresponding recesses (3b) on the other housing part. The recesses on both parts have parallel side surfaces and accommodate paper filter medium folded in zigzag shape. The bases (1a,1b) of the two housing parts are designed as grilles with concentric ribs intersected by radial ribs. On the tips of the protrusions are provided tips, which penetrate the filter medium (2) where they rest against the corresponding recessions. The two housing parts are permanently fixed together by fusing the tips to the respective housing recesses using ultrasonic welding. PS.
