PURPOSE:To ensure a contactless measurement of the grain size and the variance of the moving granulous substance, by detecting the reflected light caused by irradiating the light to the moving granulous substance, giving a vibration analysis to the detection signal to obtain the frequency spectrum and then calculating the grain size based on the moving speed. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 5 given from a laser projector 4 irradiates the uneven surface of the object 1 to be carried in accordance with the movement of the object 1. With a change of the position of irradiation, the reflected light beams 5A and 5B having different angles form an image between two points A and B on a photosensor 7 through an optical lens 6. The detector 3 delivers the electric signal V that is proportional to the extent DELTAh of the movement of the formed image. The output V receives a vibration analysis through a frequency spectrum analyzer 10, and the grain size distribution is calculated for the group of the object 1 by an operator 11 and based on the frequency spectrum and the conveyor speed S. The grain size distribution is then displayed at the display devices 12, 13 and 14. |
