PURPOSE:To set relative positions among the X-ray tube, the fluorescent X-ray detector, and the sample face to a fixed state accurately, by focusing the optical image obtained by magnifying the sample face. CONSTITUTION:The magnified optical image of the surface of sample 6 is projected onto screen 2, and handle 12 is operated to focus this optical image and thus, the distance between sample 6 and the lens is adjusted into a fixed value. The vertical position of sample 6 is set in a fixed position accurately. Under this state, knobs 10 and 11 are operated, and the image on screen 2 is observed to match a desired point to cross index 3, and the focus is adjusted again precisely, thereby setting relative positions among the sample surface, X-ray tube 4, and X-ray detector 5 to a fixed distance relation. |
