<p>A automatic bar stock feeder for a machine-tool includes a flat guide plate (18) which remains stationary during the machine working cycle until, when the final stub of bar stock comes level with gripping jaws, it is moved by a rack and pinnion arrangement, of which the rack is formed on the guide plate (18), to provide for the raising and lowering motion for a bar guide cover (9) via a cam guideway (21), and to provide for opening and closing motion for the jaws, via two further cam guideways (19) and (20). The guide plate (18) also has a sloping cut out for providing motion to separating pins (12) which control separation of succeeding bars. <IMAGE></p> |
