PURPOSE:To add copper sulfide to acrylic (type) fibers and to obtain electrically conductive fibers having improved resistance to washing, by heat-treating the acrylic fibers in a bath having monovalent copper ion so that the copper ion is adsorbed on the fibers, followed by heat-treating them together with sulfur, etc. CONSTITUTION:Acrylic (type) fibers are heat-treated preferably at 90-110 deg.C in a bath having a bivalent copper salt, e.g., copper sulfide, etc. and a reducing agent, e.g., hydroxylamine, etc., and, if necessary, and acid for adjusting pH, e.g., sulfuric acid, etc. so that the copper salt is dispersed and adsorbed as monovalent copper ion on the fibers. The adsorption amount of the copper ion is preferably 1-30wt% calculated as metal copper. EFFECT:Properties of fibers, e.g., feeling, etc. are hardly damaged, the addition of the small amount of the fibers to various woven fabrics can provide them with imoroved destaticizing effect. |
