The catalysts consist of salts of metals of columns II and III and of the first transition series of the Periodic Classification, such as magnesium, aluminium, gallium, cobalt and nickel, which are soluble in the reaction mixture. Application to the homogeneous phase polymerisation of olefinic and heterocyclic monomers.
