<p>PURPOSE:To keep the tension of a magnetic tape at a prescribed level and thus enhance the durability, by detecting the tension of the tape in the travelling path of the tape covering over the two tape reels that are driven independently and then comparing the tape tension with the prescribed tension through a comparator. CONSTITUTION:The tension of the magnetic tape 5 that travels in the tape travelling path covering over the two tape reels that are driven independently by the reel motors 1 and 2 respectively is detected by detecting the displacement of e.g. the tension arm 9 of the tape tension regulator 6 by the magnetic electric transducer 11 and in the form of the voltage changing component. This detection output is supplied to the comparator 18 to be compared with the voltage level set at a prescribed tape tension. The comparison output of the comparator 18 is supplied to the driving circuits 24 and 26 of the motors 1 and 2 respectively to give a control to the direction and speed of rotation, and others. Thus a control is given to the tension of the magnetic tape 5.</p> |
