PURPOSE:To obtain a compound magnetic head in which two magnetic heads such as a recording head and a reproducing head are unified, by distributing a head unit at the both sides of a center shielding unit provided within a shielding case. CONSTITUTION:The C type core blocks 2A and 2B of the ferrite are joined to both sides of the center core block 1 of the platelike ferrite to form the 1st and 2nd gaps; and the center groove 3 is formed to the block 1. The nonmagnetic separating member 4 is provided to the groove 3 and then sliced into a prescribed thickness to form the front core block 5. Then the rear end of the block 5 is cut off, and the center shielding groove 10 is formed to the separating member at the side of the rear end. Thus the front core part 21 is formed with a front core having the 1st and 2nd gaps. Then the groove 10 is fitted to the tip of the H-shaped center shielding unit 30, and the core part 21 is fixed at the unit 30. Thus a compound magnetic head stored in the shielding case 40 is obtained. |
