PURPOSE:To produce a magnetic head having good properties with a good yield, by securing such a working process in which the magnetic head is produced with a magnetic thin plate 3 forming a magnetic core held between the nonmagnetic guard materials. CONSTITUTION:A paired nonmagnetic guard materials 1 and 2 are laminated together with an intervention of a magnetic thin plate 3 to form a fixed block 4. The block 4 is then cut in parallel and in the laminating direction of the materials 1 and 2 plus the plate 3 to be separated into >=2 blocks 5 having a width W respectively. Then the grooves 6, 7 and 8 are provided on the side face 5a of a paired blocks 5, and the face 5a is made to face opposite to the side face 5b of the other block 5 for junction. In such way, a magnetic head 11 is obtained with a magnetic gap (g) formed between the (contact) face of the opposite magnetic media with a prescribed depth for a paired magnetic cores 13A and 13B made of a paired magnetic thin plates 3. In such way of production, a working can be eliminated at a high temperature to increase not only the properties but the production yield. |
