PURPOSE:To reduce a steel making cost, in the operation of an oxygen bottom blown converter, by reutilizing CO2 generated by combusting a gas generated from the converter as a protective gas for cooling the tuyere of a furnace bottom. CONSTITUTION:A CO containing waste gas generated during the operation of the oxygen bottom blown converter 1 is recovered and cooled as well as subjected to dust removal by passing through a radiation cooling part 2, a primary Venturi 3, a secondary Venturi 4 and stored in a gas recovery apparatus 5. The recovered gas is introduced into a combustion apparatus 6 to combust CO contained therein and, after the heat of combustion is utilized avaliably, said gas is cooled in a heat exchanger 7 and, further, CO2 in said gas is separated in a CO2 separator 8 to be stored said gas in a CO2 holder 9. A part of the stored gas is again used as a protective gas of the tuyere 1 deg. of the furnace bottom for blowing an oxygen gas of the converter. Because a hydrocarbon is not used as the protective gas, a steel with a reduced hydrogen content can be manufactured, because a CO2 gas source is resulted from the utilization of said waste gas, a steel making cost can be also reduced as well.
|
