PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity and endurance by forming a dye layer based on one or more kinds of dyes selected from pyrylium salts, thio- or selenapyrylium salts and benzo-, benzothia- or benzoselena-pyrylium salts as an optical charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:An optical charge generating layer of <=4mu thickness contg. at least one kind of said dyes is formed on an electrically conductive support by dissolving the dye in a solvent optionally together with a little binder resin and applying the soln. A charge carrier tranferring layer such as polyvinylcarbazole layer or 2,5-bis- (diethylamino-phenyl)-1,3,4-oxazole-polycarbonate layer is then formed on the charge generating layer to obtain an electrophotographic receptor of separated function type. |
