PURPOSE:To prevent dew condensation in accordance with secular change of a photoreceptor, by controlling operation of a heater in accordance with the surface resistivity of the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2, 2' are provided on the end of a photoreceptor surface by adhesion, vapor deposition, or the like, contact reeds 17, 17' are allowed to contact slantly with electrodes 2, 2', respectively, to measure the surface resistivity between them. When this detected value drops down to or below a specified value, heater installed in the photosensitive drum is energized to heat the photoreceptor and prevent dew condensation, thus permitting deformation due to dew condensation to be prevented. Detection precision is enhanced by forming the electrodes into the complicated shapes. |
