PURPOSE:To intend the amendment of a workability and a quality stability by heating an anode having silver (II) oxide as a main body for a given hours at a given temperature and quenching it to form a degenerated layer on the surface thereon. CONSTITUTION:An anode 2 inserted to the bottom of an anode case 1 is formed by the following method. AgO particles having 1-5mu in particle size are formed by compression under a high pressure to prepare a disc anode 2. Then, said anode 2 is placed on a temperature wherein an oxygen in Ag2O is discharged, for instance, on a heated plate heated to 150 deg.C approximately for 10min. During this time, the oxygen in AgO is discharged from the surface of the anode 2, and AgO close to the surface of the anode changes to Ag2O. Then, the anode 2 is quenched to form Ag2O layer 8 having a given thickness. Further, the anode 2 is placed, for instance, on a heated plate heated to 400 deg.C for 5min to change Ag2O close to the surface to Ag. Then, a silver layer 9 is allowed to form on the surface of the Ag2O layer 8 by quenching. Thus, the anode 2 having a three layer construction, AgO, Ag2O and Ag, is obtained. |
