PURPOSE:To facilitate preparatory replacement of tools without interruption of machining works in such a way that in a machine tool of overhead type which has plural tool magazines on the upper side of a column, the tool magazine which is put aside from its use is sent down to the lateral side of the column. CONSTITUTION:The main shaft 16 is provided to be rotatable in the vertical direction to the revolving axial line of the main shaft head 15 in the front 13a of a column, and a tool replacer 20 is fixed to be slidable thereupon. A revolving body 25 is installed to be rotatable on the upper side of the column 13. There are magazine holding bodies 27a, 27b on the both sides of this revolving body 25. While one of them is in use, the other tool magazine 45b is sent down by an elevating cylinder 43, so that tool replacement can be done by hand. |
