Fuel consumption indicator for motor vehicle - uses comparators connected to capacitors of preset charge and manifold vacuum sensors to provide light diode display on speedometer

The driver of a motor vehicle is provided with a single indication of the fuel consumption in order that economic fuel usage can be achieved. The fuel usage and speed are combined for this indication. The vacuum conditions in the air inlet to the engine are measured and connected via a pipe to a potentiometer in order to convert the values to an electrical voltage. The output of the potentiometer is connected to several comparators each connected to a different reference voltage. These reference voltages are provided by a zener diode and resistor network. The comparator outputs are connected through resistors to LED's on the speedometer (1). The LED's are located at speed indications corresponding to an economic fuel consumption.
