The locking stirrup section provides a brace which locks an integrated circuit containing a memory, to its support. The integrated circuit is lodged in an insulating plate (1), having connection pins (2) and on which is provided a memory (3). The plate is mounted on a support (4) provided with sockets (5) in which the pins (2) engage. The plate is maintained on its support by a stirrup section (7) whose internal width is equal to the external width of the support. The length of the stirrup section (7) is at least that of the memory chip (3). Each of the lateral elements of the stirrup section (7) comprises an internal ridge (8) whose end is externally bevelled (8a) to form contact under the support (4). The lateral element is integral with an internal strip (9) which presses against the plate (1).
