For obtaining additional heat from an open fireplace, heat obtained from the rear of the fireplace warms fresh air underneath the burning fuel. The entering fresh air passes through a chamber (3) under the burning fuel, containing vertical baffle plates, then enters a larger chamber (4) at the rear, having horizontal baffles. After travelling vertically upwards, the heated air then enters another chamber (5) enclosing the lower part of the hood. The heated air is then discharged sideways through openings (6) at the top of the upper chamber. The hood can be enclosed by a false hood (8).
|
