Offshore platform with sealed accommodation - has schnorkel ventilation escape pipes and automatic seal actuated by leakage

The off shore platform has a superstructure fitted out for personnel accommodation which is built along the lines of a submarine. It is sealed against the admission of water and fitted with port holes. The inside of the accommodation is pressurised. The accommodation is also fitted with schorkel pipes made from semi rigid material. The pipes have floats attached to the top end. The pipes are sufficiently large to allow the passage of a man. The openings in the accommodation are closed by automatic signals with the inner leakage of water.
