PURPOSE:To provide a subject device, for use with an ink jet printer, which is provided with a liquid diameter correcting means for adjusting a size of an electric signal to be applied to an electromechanical transducing part, and can prevent the liquid diameter from changing after quiescence of said electric signal. CONSTITUTION:Liquid from a liquid feed tank is caused to operate an electromechanical transducing part 18 according to an electric signal applied to cause a change in volume, and printing is conducted on a recording sheet by jetting liquid drops through a liquid drop jet head 1. In case a quiescent period T being wider than a given width is set at a pattern of an electric signal applied to the electromechanical transducing part and at least 3 consecutive electric signals are then set, a liquid drop diameter correction means, for example, a variable amplifier 27, which increases a size or width of the second electric signal out of the 3 consecutive electric signals, is mounted to correct a liquid diameter rs. The first liquid drop diameter rl tends to be too large and the second one tends to become too samll: such tendency is corrected. |
