Bars of soap with surface recess - to receive and retain other pieces of soap too small for further use

Bars of domestic soap are moulded with a shallow rectangular or oval recess in one face, to receive and retain scraps of previously used soap and thus avoid waste without inconvenience. Pref. the surface of the recess is slightly concave to approximate to the typically lenticular shape of a residual piece of soap used for domestic washing.
