<p>The frame enables the leg muscles to be exercised. It has a tubular frame with two adjacent platforms (10) for the feet moved backwards and forwards together or alternately. The frame supports the body of the patient and has a belt (8) adjusted to suit the size of the patient's body. The frame has a vertical column (1) with a pulley (17) at the top for a cable (16) with a counterweight (15) at one end, and connected to two cables (12) at the other end passing around pulleys (13) at each side of the base. The ends of these two cables are attached to a stirrup (11) attached to one of the patient's ankles. The height of the stirrup can be adjusted to determine the type of exercise to be used. The belt is attached to an upper part of the frame, which is height adjustable and has arm supports.</p> |
