[Class 20 (ii)] A loft-ladder of the type hinged at its upper end so that it can be set at an inclination or collapsed in a vertical position against a wall or in a cupboard below the loft opening, has each side formed of a pair of members 2a, 2b connected by link members 3 which support the ends of the steps, the members at each side collapsing on each other when the ladder is pushed into the vertical position. A folding strut 17 limits the outward movement of the foot of the ladder which may be supplied with wheels 14. A hand-rail 5 is carried by links 6 pivoted to the members of one side so that it collapses with the ladder. |
