The electric clock with an analogue time indicating system, preferably quartz controlled incorporates a device which enables the hour indicator to be advanced or retracted by an hour when changing the clock to suit a different time zone. It can be used when adjusting for e.g. summer time. The movement of the hour indicator does not affect the minute indicator. The adjustment is made by rotating a spindle (12) with a pinion (11) attached, connected by a set of gears to a large gear wheel (19) rotating about the axis of the hollow bearing spindle (16) carrying part of the gearing. This rotates a ratchet arm (22) with a finger which engages one of set three notches around a collar which moves the hour indicator by a distance corresponding to one hour.
