The clamping assembly is intended for holding a tubular bobbin core (11) on a multiple-bobbin (synthetic) yarn winding machine. It comprises a drive spindle (1) carrying slidable bushes (2) with conical ends capable of expanding complementary core clamp elements (4) arranged in the core carrier bush (7). This bush (7) is provided with cylindrical cut-outs which contain the elements (4) and are partly covered by element (4) retaining rings (8) fixed to the outside of the bush (7). The bush is provided with internal axial grooves for flat-section operating members connected (at 17) to the bushes (2) to move them axially.
