PURPOSE:To enable the recording with high quality, by reducing the appearance of intermediate level, in the device unstable in outputting the density of intermediate level. CONSTITUTION:When the dither matrix is 2X2 and the recorded density level takes three values of 0,1/2 and 1, one dither matrix can be represented with 4 points. Different threshould value is given to each point. The threshold value at the point dij in the dither matrix is decided with the number of points in the matrix, location of each point and recordable level. Since the number of times of appearance of 0 and 1 becomes many for the recorded density at each point, the intermediate tone of a half tone which is unstable is prevented from appearing continuously. |
