Multipole socket outlet for wall mounting - has collar set back from front face to allow plaster thickness when wall mounted

The industrial type socket outlet, eg. 380V 16A, multiple contact with one protection contact, and semi-recessed for wall mounting into plasterwork. The socket outlet complies with several DIN standards. The face (12) of the socket outlet carries the phase contacts (6) and the protection, ie. earth, contact (7) all of which stand proud from the wall face but are protected by a collar (3) also standing proud. Between the collar (3) and the socket outlet points (6,7,12) is a recessed bridging support (4) sufficiently rebated (along 9) from the front face (12) to ensure good contact for plug units. The collar (3) also stands proud from the outer ring (1), with screw holes (5), used to fix the socket outlet to the wall. To facilitate screw fixings the collar (3) is also rebated at the screw holes (5). When mounted on the plaster board the socket outlet will stand proud. The plaster takes up the distance between the mounting ring (1) and collar (3) top so that the final socket outlet appearance is flush. A facing plate (17) may be fixed using additional screw holes (2) in the outer ring. The socket outlet is keyed (8) for correct orientation of attachments.
