The throttle setting control for a car has a control knob on the dashboard and a cable- or rod linkage to a spring loaded lever which rests against the back of the throttle pedal. The position of the lever is felt by the driver as the pedal is depressed and represents an optimum cruising position which can be overridden by pressing the lever against its spring. The cable- or rod linkage is threaded through a fixed bracket using a captive nut and the shaft end of the drive pushes the spring loaded lever into the required setting. The device does not restrict the throttle setting, the driver merely feels increased resistance as the lever is moved.
|
