Compressed air supply for turbine driven vehicle - has compressor linked to turbine by selective flow restriction

The compressed air supply for a vehicle has the compressor (13) linked to the compressor (1) of the turbine drive by a control valve (4). This provides a direct connection to the compressor up to a set pressure in the reservoir (22). Above the set pressure the control valve connects the turbine to the compressor via a flow restriction (3) while excess air is dumped via a vent line (18) from the pressure control valve (20). For low reservoir pressures the air supply from the turbine is taken directly to the compressor for a rapid filling of the reservoir, with a feedback loop (10) from the pressure control valve to the flow control valve (4). When excess air is dumped the flow restriction prevents a direct venting of the turbine, and limits the air loss to a set rate, so that the turbine efficiency is not affected.
