The extrusions are made from a mixt. contg. cement, organic and/or glass fibres, water, at least one agent (I) aiding extrusion, and water adsorbing aggregate consisting of chalk and/or diatomite and/or talc. The organic fibres are pref. polymer fibres, esp. polythene- and/or polypropylene fibres. A pref. mixt.(A) contains 40 kg Portland- or hydraulic- cement, 8 kg chalk, 4 kg talc, esp. type IMI-R6S, 13 kg water, and 1.3 kg fibres as above; another pref. mixt. (B) contains 40 kg cement, 2 kg diatomite, 11 kg water and 1.2 kg fibres. The third pref. mixt.(C) contains 40 kg cement, 2 kg diatomite, 2 kg talc, 23 kg water, and 1.2 kg fibres. An amorphous diatomite is pref. used in the mixts. None of the mixts. contain asbestos fibres, which are harmful to health. The mouldings are sufficiently rigid immediately after extrusion so they do not lose their shape until hardening is complete, but they contain sufficient water to ensure complete hardening. The mixts. are used in conventional extrusion machines, e.g. to make panels, rods or pipes.
|
