The magnetically actuated flat display is designed to provide a stable display of a specific field area. The display has a number of adjacent cells (3) that are formed by plastic side walls (4) and a transparent cover (5). An insulating plate (6) provides a mounting for the display elements (1) that contain a permanent magnetic material block (2). Excitation of the magnetic display elements is provided by electromagnets that are formed from coils (8) mounted on cores (7). All cores are supported upon a common yoke (9). The plate display elements are formed with various polarities.
