<p>1534528 Granulating slag NIPPON STEEL CORP 29 Dec 1975 [30 Dec 1974 (2) 31 July 1975] 52992/75 Heading C7X [Also in Division F4] A method of producing particles of solid slag from molten slag (obtained in metal smelting processes) through cooling comprises introducing molten slag into an inclined revolving cylindrical body 5 through its upper end, cooling the external periphery surface of body 5 e.g. with water through sprinkling pipe 12, so as to cool the slag to solidification at a rate in excess of 20‹C/min. The slag may be discharged from lower end 7 into a heat exchange tower 16 including a storage bin 17 and a heat exchange chamber 20 whereinto cold gas is blown to further cool the slag.</p>
