<p>The system is used for breaking up a monotonous continuous surface on concrete walls. It is used in buildings, retaining walls, towers, bridges, columns, slabs or elsewhere. Tubs, or other containers, of any size and shape, made of clay, glass enamelled metal or concrete, with or without decoration - or simply their matrices - are selected for casting into walls during construction, so that attractive plants can be grown in them. They may protrude, or be fully let into walls. Even without vegetation, an otherwise drab finish is greatly improved. Ivy can also provide heat insulation and shade.</p> |
