The panel (1) intended for sound-insulating a combustion engine, or compressor comprises sound-insulating material (9) sandwiched between two metal plates (2,5). At least one heat pipe (10 or 20) is arranged between the two plates and has its evaporator and condenser ends (11,12 or 21,22) in good thermal contact (13 or 23) with the respective plates. These ends are pref. in a material with good heat conductivity, such as iron, copper, aluminium, whilst being hermetically joined via an insulating connector such as a flexible plastics tube (15 or 25) or a bellows.
