An improvement of a core board for shaping and retaining the shape of clothes having a body, used within the clothes to prevent them from collapsing in the course of distribution and to improve their appearance in a display. This core board includes a thin hem supporting section (21) at the upper edge of a hem retaining member (2) within the upper inside portion of the publicly known core board (1) with right and left side edges (13, 13). The hem supporting section (21) is mounted under constant tension within the core board. A pair of self-nipping sections (30, 30) are so provided that the back surface portion of the hem supporting section (21) and the inside surface portion confronted with the back surface portion of the section (21) are brought into close contact with each other at both ends by fixing a partial portion of at least the vicinity of the upper edge of the hem retaining member (2) to the core board (1) at both side ends by a mounting means (3) exposed at the outside of the core board (1) and coupled directly to he outside of the core board (1). With the core board utilized, the work of shaping and retaining the shape of the waist body W and the hem body H can reliably be performed rapidly and effectively in the rectilinearly shortest motion. |
