The waste glass collection installation has at least one throw-in opening which leads into a glass reception container. The glass reception container is located in a covered pit with the throw-in opening being formed by the upper end of a fall pipe which either directly or indirectly leads into the glass reception container. There is a hard impact surface which is located below the lower end of the fall pipe but above the floor of the glass reception container.
