The mechanism for an electric clock is designed so that it can be easily adjusted for different time zones. An operating element (25) is incorporated so that the hour hand (2) can be moved independently of the minute hand. The hour hand spindle is rotated through an angle of 30 degrees, either backwards or forwards. The element has a shaft (27) which projects upwards beyond the clock mechanism and when moved inwards or outwards operates a coupling (6,7,8) between the spindle (4) driving the minute hand and the remainder of the drive so that the minute hand is not affected during this alteration. The shaft has a serrated surface (33) for engagement by the finger, and on the other side switching members (31,31a) which project to engage the teeth of a pinion (10) controlling the movement of the hour hand.
|
