Variable profile cylinder lock flat key - has lengthways grooves and cut=outs or holes in opposite shanks of U=profile

The basic profile of the key is virtually U-shaped. Of two parallel shanks, one has profile grooves or ribs aligned lengthways, and the other has cutouts, holes or similar for activation of the tumbler pins. The grooves or ribs are pref. located on the outer side face of the first shank and the cutouts for the pins in the end face of the second, which may run through the centre of the core. The number of surfaces lending themselves to variation is increased, in comparison with other flat keys.
