The vehicle anti-theft switch is based on electrical switches operated by the action of the ignition key on individual sprung rods. The lock has the normal five positions, the key being withdrawable only in the stop and garage positions which are mutually displaced by 90 degrees. The lock shaft is continued as a short cross (40A) carrying a rotor (40) cut-away such that the rods make or break the vehicle electrical circuits. Each switch point has two electrodes (44) and connection terminals (45) recessed within the lock body (42A). The rod electrodes are held towards the contact electrodes by individual springs (47) and have an annulus at one end (46A) which prevents radial movement of the rod within the switch. The opposite end (46) rides on any one of several concentric axially displaced out-away tracks on the rotor.
|
