Sepg. carbon black and glass fibre from heated waste rubber tyres - by air stream separation followed by removal of residual carbon from fibres by combustion

The waste is in the form of a mate. The process comprises breaking the mat up into a cloud of C black particles and C black free fibres sepg the particles and the fibres, collecting the particles as a first useful by prod and combusting the fibres to burn off any residual C black to form a second useful by-prod. The cloud is pref blown by a gentle air-stream into a cyclone separator connected to a particle store and a fibre combustor heated to temperature of 500-550 degrees C. Two useful by products are obtd.
