<p>Extending ground support struts for a construction vehicle has a pair of telescopic arms (2) at each end of the vehicle, hinged from a common point at each end to extend in a V shape away from the vehicle. The first section of each arm slides in a clamp (7) at the bottom of a hydraulic ram (5) secured to the chassis so that the strut can be pressed against the ground. The end of each strut has a self aligning support plate (9). The hydraulic lines for the struts are completely encased in the struts and the rams and are not easily damaged. The rams press directly on the chassis, which is reinforced by a frame (13).</p> |
