In order to be able to gather the dead fish in a fish breeding net without disturbing the fish by lifting a portion of the net up to the water surface, the breeding net 1, 2 according to the invention is provided with a basket or net screen 7, which rests with its edge 8 against the bottom of the net 2 and functions as a collector of dead fish. The net screen 7 is hauled up and let down by means of lines 11, 15, respectively fastened to the top and to the bottom of the net screen 7, and led upward from here to the top edge 3 of the net via a floating block 12 and a block 14 fastened to the bottom of the net, respectively. A different downhaul can be established by means of a plummet 16 suspended from a line 17 which passes from the bottom of the net screen 7 and downward underneath the bottom of the net 2. <IMAGE>
