<p>PURPOSE:To enhance conversion efficiency of SO2 to S, in recovering S by reducing SO2 in the combustion waste gas to S, by a method wherein SO2 and water are adsorbed and, after water is desorbed, SO2 is desorbed to be reduced. CONSTITUTION:A combustion waste gas 2 containing SO2 and moisture is introduced into an adsorbing tower 1 and, at the same time, an activated carbon is supplied as an adsorbing agent 3 to adsorb SOx and moisture at a temp. of 100- 200 deg.C. Said adsorbing agent 3 is entered into a water desorbing tower 4 and heated to 200-300 deg.C to desorb only the adsorbed moisture. Subsequently, said adsorbing agent 3 is introduced into a SO2 desorbing tower 6 and heated to 300 deg.C or more to desorb the adsorbed SO2 and a SO2 containing gas is introduced into a reduction tower 9 to be reduced by a reductive gas such as CH4, CO or the like and, thereby, a solid S is discharged from an outlet 10. The desorbed adsorbing agent 3 is again returned to the adsorbing tower 1.</p> |
