PURPOSE:To render the gap between a main electrode and an auxiliary electrode of a distributor for an internal combustion engine accurate and to thereby reduce noises produced by the distributor, by making the main electrode and the auxiliary electrode by fixing a unitary electrode member on a rotor bed of the distributor and thereafter cutting away a folded portion of the electrode member. CONSTITUTION:A main electrode 3 and an auxiliary electrode 11 of distributor for use in an internal combustion engine are made simultaneously by fixing an electrode plate 13 on a rotor bed 4 and thereafter cutting away a folded portion 12 of the electrode plate 13. Here, it is known that the gap g between the main electrode 3 and the auxiliary electrode 11 produces a great influence to the noise reducing effect. According to the above method, however, the gap g between the main electrode 3 and the auxiliary electrode 11 can be rendered accurate since cutting of the electrode plate 13 at its folded portion is effected after the rotor bed 4 is cooled and contracted to a required size. |
