PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of the signal transmitting device in the steering gear by fixing a first coil around the outer peripheral surface of a steering shaft and mounting a second coil on the inner peripheral surface of a steering column cover. CONSTITUTION:The steering shaft 1 is mounted at the upper end with the steering wheel 3 and around the outer peripheral surface in the vicinity of the upper end with the annular first coil 4. In this instance, the steering wheel 3 and the first coil 4 are connected to made the same rotation. On the other hand, on the inner peripheral surface of the steering column cover 2 is mounted the annular second coil 5 so as to oppose the outer peripheral surface of the first coil 4. By the use of a mutual induction between these first and second coils 4 and 5, the output signals from various kinds of switches 6 arranged at a support part 3b of the steering wheel 3 are transmitted to the side of the steering column cover 2. |
