PURPOSE:To prevent a trouble of a temperature increase of the engine and improve heating effect by a method wherein a thermostat valve provided through a coolant circuit from a coolant outlet to a radiator of the engine is operated by the temperature of the coolant. CONSTITUTION:A case 10 fitted with the thermostat valve 5 is inserted in a connecting part of the coolant outlet 1a and a circulation pipe 6 of the engine. When the heating is not conducted, passages 9a and 9b are communicated with each other by a cock 8, and during the coolant temperature being low, the valve 5 is the closed state and the coolant is supplied to the engine 1 again passing through the passages 9a, 9b, 9c 9d, a chamber 10a in the case 10 from an outflow opening 1b and through a pump 3 from a passage (e). When the heating is in used, the cock 8 is changed over so as to communicate the passage 9a to a heater core 4 side, the coolant is flowed to the core 4 to be heat-exchanged, and when a set temperature is attained, the valve 5 is open-operated. |
