A stable 1α-hydroxy vitamin D compns. for oral administration are prepd. by mixing the vitamin dissolved in irradiated triglyceride with base materials. The compn. containing 1α-hydroxyvitamin D, esp. 1α-hydroxy in triglyceride in the medium chain length is in a high pressure liq. chromatography with a CHCl3-MeCN (8:2) mobile phase, contg. 0.3μg triglyceride sample, and a flow rate of mL/min show a peak smaller than the peak for 1.5 X 10-10 M Et aminobenzoate under the same conditions.
