A thermal exchange assembly according to the invention includes at least four passages intended respectively for cooling a refrigerant mixture, cooling a gas being processed, heating the refrigerant mixture, and heating an auxiliary refrigerant. The invention is applicable in particular to the liquefaction of gases and gaseous mixtures.
