In order, for example, to realise a large-area reflector as a solar simulator for testing solar collectors, said reflector is composed of sector-shaped segments (3) which are bent in accordance with the desired shaping of the concave mirror and have the shape of a sector of a circle in plan view. In order to increase the stability, the segments are each provided on their convex side with projecting rims, and possibly further have transverse ribbing. The segments are screwed onto the projecting rims with the aid of bolts (13). This reflector can also be produced without any problem using conventional machine tools in the case of a large-area configuration. <IMAGE>
